LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

After completing the case learners should be able to:

• Intervene with patients who have tobacco dependence using evidence-based recommendations
• Counsel patients who are unwilling or not ready to quit smoking using principles of Motivational Interviewing
• Become familiar with smoking cessation pharmacotherapy recommendations, dosing, side effects and precautions.
