Medical Management of Tobacco Use for the Chemically Dependent Client

As a busy clinician, how do you help chemically dependent clients address their tobacco use? During this interactive, web-based seminar, we will discuss step-by-step methods and guidelines for working with this population and for integrating tobacco dependence interventions and therapy into a busy practice. We will review the models for addressing tobacco use and dependency using case scenarios focusing on pharmacotherapy and dosing methods for chemically dependent clients, interactions between NRTs and other medications, and the use of combination therapies with NRTs. We will also explore counseling methods and interventions the busy clinician can use to address tobacco use with clients.
